About Yahtzee
Yahtzee is the classic five-dice game of filling a scorecard. Each turn you get up to three rolls: keep the dice you like and re-roll the rest. Then you must score the result in one of 13 boxes, from Ones to Sixes in the upper section to Three and Four of a Kind, Full House, two straights, Yahtzee and Chance in the lower section. Each box can be used only once.
Play on your own for a high score, against up to three computer players, or with friends online: start a table and send the link, and up to three people join from their own browsers. Everyone sees the same dice and every player's scorecard, so you can follow each other's turns as they happen. When the game ends, you can all play again.
The scoring follows standard Yahtzee rules. Full House is worth 25, a Small Straight of four in a row 30, a Large Straight of five in a row 40, and a Yahtzee, five of a kind, 50. Three of a Kind, Four of a Kind and Chance score the total of all five dice. Reach 63 in the upper section, three of each number, for a 35-point bonus. Every extra Yahtzee earns a 100-point bonus once your Yahtzee box holds 50, under the standard joker rules.

How to play
- 1Play the computer right away, or start a table and send the link to up to three friends.
- 2Each turn you get up to three rolls of the five dice; press Roll to roll.
- 3Tap the dice you want to keep, then roll the others again.
- 4Choose an empty box on your scorecard to score the dice; you must score every turn, even if it is a zero.
- 5Each of the 13 boxes is filled once, so the game lasts 13 rounds.
- 6The highest total, including the upper bonus and any Yahtzee bonuses, wins.
Questions
- Can I play Yahtzee online with friends for free?
- Yes. Start a table, send your friends the link, and start when everyone has joined. There is no download and no sign-up. You can also play the computer straight away.
- How many players can play?
- One to four. Play alone, add up to three computer players, or invite up to three friends; empty seats can go to the computer.
- How does the upper section bonus work?
- If your Ones to Sixes boxes add up to 63 or more, you get 35 bonus points. Scoring three of each number gets you there exactly.
- Do extra Yahtzees score a bonus?
- Yes. Once your Yahtzee box holds 50, every extra Yahtzee earns 100 bonus points. The joker rule decides where it goes: its matching upper box if open, otherwise any open lower box at full value, otherwise a zero in an open upper box.
- Is Yahtzee the same as Yatzy?
- They are close relatives that both come from the older game Yacht. Yatzy, popular in Scandinavia, uses a different scorecard with pairs and fixed straights; this site uses the Yahtzee scorecard.
