About Go Fish
Go Fish is one of the first card games most people learn, and it still works for all ages. Each player tries to collect books: all four cards of one rank, such as four 7s. On your turn you ask another player for a rank you already hold. If they have any, they hand them all over and you ask again. If not, they tell you to go fish and you draw a card from the pond.
Here you can play against one to three computer players or online with friends, free and without an account. The computer players remember which ranks everyone has asked for and come after them, so watch the log yourself. With friends, two to four players can join: start a table, share the invite link, and the host starts the game. With more than one opponent, you choose who to ask each turn.
With two or three players everyone starts with seven cards; with four, five each. The game ends when all thirteen books are made or someone runs out of cards with the pond empty, and the player with the most books wins. Remembering who asked for which rank is the main skill, and it matters more than you might expect.
Also known as Fish, Go Fishing.
How to play
- 1Play the computer (one to three opponents), or play with friends online for 2-4 players.
- 2On your turn, select a rank you already have in your hand.
- 3With several opponents, pick which player to ask, then ask.
- 4If they have that rank, they give you every card of it and you ask again.
- 5If not, go fish: draw a card from the pond. If it is the rank you asked for, you go again; otherwise your turn ends.
- 6When you hold all four cards of a rank, they are laid down as a book.
- 7When all 13 books are made, or a player runs out of cards with the pond empty, the player with the most books wins.
